Tackling the affordability crisis is rightly one of this government’s biggest priorities.
I’m really pleased that this Labour government has today confirmed that thousands of eligible households across Southampton will receive the £150 warm home discount every winter for the next decade.
That’s more than £1.6 million slashed from energy bills right here in Southampton each year. It’s another welcome step to tackle the cost of living for people in the city, which also includes freezing rail fares for the first time in 30 years, freezing prescription charges for the second year running, rolling out free breakfast clubs and increasing the national minimum and living wage.
The Government’s website has full details of the Warm Home Discount, including eligibility.
